Missouri Fine Arts Academy — MFAA plays an important role in fostering the growth and development of some of the most talented young artists in the state of Missouri. This academy is an extraordinarily special endeavor. You may help guarantee that it remains so by contributing to a permanent endowment fund for its support. Funds may be used to underwrite field trips, guest artists, and class materials and supplies, and to provide grants to students who institute civic engagement through the arts projects in their home communities. Give to The Missouri Fine Arts Academy Endowment Fund or Lloyd I. Williams Fine Arts Endowment. Cost – $250-$10,000.
Student Achievement Awards — provide up to $200 in financial assistance to students pursuing opportunities for recognition and/or dissemination of their scholarly and creative work. For example, exhibition or competition entrance fees and travel expenses for making a presentation or accepting an award. In a previous academic year, the college awarded almost $9,000 in awards to approximately 70 students. Cost – $200/each.
Photographic Equipment — for students to photograph their work, particularly for portfolios and applications to conferences, graduate programs, etc. Cost – $2,500.
Prize money for top speakers in the Public Speaking Showcase — This end-of-semester competition features the top students in each public speaking class; prizes are given to each finalist. Cost – $500.
Moon City Review printing — for one year of printing costs. Missouri State’s student literary magazine, edited by English students. Cost – $6,000.
Table for Student Exhibition Center — replace heavy, aging table with Lorell® Ultra-Lite Folding Table, 29”H x 30”W x 72”D, Platinum. (2 needed) Cost – $226/each.
Digital Film Production Scholarship — This is the department’s first scholarship designed to reward a talented student pursuing a career in filmmaking. Our many talented student filmmakers really benefit from this one and only production-oriented scholarship. Last year we were able to award $800. We’d love to be able to offer more monetary support this year. Cost – $100 – $2,000.
Student participation in Bear Corps — a departmental study away program that sends students to Ecuador for intensive Spanish study and community service. Cost – $100 – $1,000.
LED Lighting Instruments — for use our theatres to provide additional, improved lighting capabilities and opportunities. Will also allow us to be more economical and environmentally sensitive. (10 needed) Cost – $1,700/each.
Subscription to Research in Dance Education — a library license subscription for this important dance research periodical/database. Cost – $850/annually.
