Filmmaker Paula Caplan will present her documentary film “Is Anybody Listening?” on Nov. 7 in Plaster Student Union Theater as part of the College of Arts and Letters MSU Film Series.
The film focuses on American veterans, allowing them a chance to speak openly about their experiences. Caplan, who produced and wrote the film, will participate in a talk-back session following the screening.
Film encourages connection, listening
Through the power of love and connection, Caplan attempts to break through the isolation many veterans feel.
She underscores the importance of listening wholeheartedly and respectfully to what our veterans have to say.
Award-winning writer, playwright has psychology training
Caplan, trained as a clinical and research psychologist, is an award-winning playwright, actor and filmmaker.
Her most recent book, “When Johnny and Jane Come Marching Home: How All of Us Can Help Veterans,” has won three national nonfiction awards.
