Dr. Shawn Wahl, interim dean of the College of Arts and Letters, has been appointed to the board of the Springfield Regional Arts Council.
Wahl said, “I am grateful to serve on the board of directors of the Springfield Regional Arts Council. Our community arts programs are important connections for our work in Missouri State’s College of Arts and Letters.
“I look forward to collaborating with members of the council and organizations in the community about our continued advocacy for the arts. Among the projects I look forward to working on in my role as a board member are Any Given Child and the Missouri Fine Arts Academy. I’m passionate about supporting these pre-college arts experiences for young people across our state.”
Wahl said, “If we can create the conditions for young people to express themselves, build confidence, prepare for jobs and dream about the future through the arts, we are doing something to help foster the talent we need to help move Missouri forward.”
