Madeleine Day, workforce planning and recruiting specialist at Anheuser-Busch InBev
Madeline Day, a 2009 Entertainment Management graduate, is a member of the People Continuity department on the Talent Acquisition team for Anheuser-Busch InBev. Day supports a number of customer groups and business units throughout the organization with the goal of developing and implementing recruitment strategies. She works very closely with her team on projects including social media (Linked In, Facebook, Twitter etc.), environmental initiatives, employment branding, the Intern/Co-op Program, and more. She also helps define position requirements, identify appropriate sourcing for talent, and screen qualified applicants.
Before joining Anheuser-Busch InBev, in St. Louis, Day worked for DHR International in Los Angeles. “Relocating from St Louis to Los Angeles for a period of two years with my former company, DHR International, presented me with the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally,” Day says. While at DHR, Day was responsible for recruitment efforts for several top retail clients and successfully placed more than 20 senior level professionals. The experience allowed her to hone her skills and develop confidence in the areas of communication and recruitment. It was this confidence that led to her to Anheuser-Busch. “Being part of the AB team has moved me to the next level in my career,” Day says.
She contributes some of her success to Drs. Phillip Rothschild and Ben Goss from the Entertainment Management program, as both “played a huge role in my success at MSU. The project management and team collaboration fundamentals they taught helped me get to where I am today.”
Day’s advice to upcoming or recent graduates is to have fun and “surround yourself with people who are smarter than you. Be open to new ideas. Hire people you think will be your boss one day. Appreciate each team member’s talents and always show appreciation for everything they bring to the table. Capture all the training and opportunities offered.”
We look forward to hearing more of Day’s success in the future, as we do with all of our alumni. If you know of a COB alumnus doing great things worthy of a moment in our spotlight, please email those suggestions to cobnewsletter@missouristate.edu.
