The Missouri State University College of Business announces the appointment of Rob Fulp as the incoming Chair of the Executive Advisory Council. Rob Fulp, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Springfield First Community Bank, has a long history as a passionate supporter of the College of Business.
“We are privileged to welcome Rob as the Chair of our College of Business Executive Advisory Council. His wisdom and guidance have been invaluable assets to me personally, and, to the College of Business and Missouri State. I look forward to his leadership of this group as we work together to enrich the College, and in particular, as we enter into our new renovation and addition to Glass Hall,” states Dr. Stephanie Bryant, Dean of the College of Business.
Fulp is a finance graduate of Missouri State University. He began his banking career as a teller at Aurora Bank in his hometown of Aurora, Missouri.
“I am honored to be the Chair of the Executive Advisory Council under the leadership of Dean Stephanie Bryant. To know that I have the ability to impact students who will become future business leaders in our community is something that means a great deal to me. Missouri State has given so much to me as a former student and I feel honored to be able to give back,” states Fulp.
Fulp also serves as a member on several civic and community boards in the Springfield community including the Missouri State Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, Cox Health Board of Directors, Every Child Promise Advisory Board, and SBDC (Springfield Business Development Corporation – the economic development arm of the Chamber). He says, “Giving back has been a priority of mine for decades. Being raised in a small town allowed me to see the importance of getting involved and giving back to a community. Our greatest investments should always be made in people, and especially in young people who will benefit from that investment for decades and will, in turn, contribute for decades within their own communities.”
The College of Business Executive Advisory Council is a group of 30 C-suite individuals from diverse business backgrounds from across the U.S. who are each at the top of their fields. This group advises and guides the College of Business throughout the year and visits campus twice annually for face-to-face strategic planning sessions with the College Leadership Team. Fulp will serve a two year term as Chair through May 2017.
