On November 4th, the Graduate College at Missouri State hosted the 2nd annual 3 Minute Thesis, (3MT) competition at the Davis-Harrington Welcome Center. Arthur Guslim, a Master of Business Administration student, took second place with his presentation entitled “Boost your Entrepreneurial Success.”
Guslim’s presentation focused on insights he learned during his Management 796 course. In this class MBA students are working on a consulting project for a four-star, four-diamond boutique hotel in San Francisco, which is exploring the feasibility of starting a new business venture in their retail space.
“I presented mostly on the process of analyzing the feasibility of a new business venture to boost one’s entrepreneurial success and the databases we used to obtain industry, market and financial information,” states Guslim.
“We are very proud of Arthur for his recent accomplishment. This group of MBA students is taking their classroom knowledge and directly applying it to a real client. This is a great experience for the students who have met with the client several times over the course of the semester and will present their final proposal in San Francisco next month,” states Dr. Elizabeth Rozell, Associate Dean of the College of Business and Director of the MBA Program.
Guslim attributes his success to his instructor Rayanna Anderson and mentor Dr. K. Stephen Haggard. Another student in 796, Elizabeth Sivill also provided Guslim with feedback ahead of the competition.
