- ECE 403: Integrated Arts in the Early Childhood Curriculum
- ECE 495: Supervised Teaching in Early Childhood Education
It was noted that ECE495 and ECE496 are the same but both are needed due to the fact that ECE will no longer have two age/grade level placements. A single placement in PK-3 is now required. Two supervised teaching courses will be used to meet the 12 hour requirement.

- ECE 575: Working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Families in Early Childhood

Reason for proposed change: Prerequisite requirements necessary to provide background information for the course (e.g., developmentally appropriate practices, lesson plan writing). ECE403 being proposed to address “arts integration”. Description-deleting: Monthly workshops jointly taught by College of Arts and Letters and College of Education faculty covering content of creative arts will occur. Field Experiences including creative arts are a part of the course. Prerequisite: CFD260 and ECE304; admission to Teacher Education and Early Childhood programs; concurrent enrollment in ECE302 and ECE303; and permission.
- ECE 302: Social Studies and Socio-Moral Development
Reason for proposed change: Prerequisite requirements necessary to provide background information for the course (e.g., developmentally appropriate practices, lesson plan writing). ECE403 being proposed to address “arts integration”. Description-deleting: Monthly workshops jointly taught by College of Arts and Letters and College of Education faculty covering content of creative arts will occur. Field Experiences including creative arts are a part of the course. Prerequisite: CFD260 and ECE304; admission to Teacher Education and Early Childhood programs; concurrent enrollment in ECE301 and ECE303; and permission.

Reason for proposed change: The ECE program is deleting ELE 302 Introduction to the Elementary School and adding hours to the ECE 304 course. The content can be focused on the specific needs of ECE teacher preparation rather than ELE. Credit/Contact Hours: Credit hours from 1 to 3, Lecture Contact Hours from 1 to 3; Description: Add: Historical perspectives of education, specifically early childhood education and Initial public school field experience.

Reason for proposed change: Prerequisite requirements necessary to provide background information for the course (e.g., developmentally appropriate practices, lesson plan writing). ELE 302 no longer required under new program revision. Prerequisite: Deleting ELE 302, adding ECE 304, adding admission to Teacher Education and Early Childhood programs, deleting “required”
