COE Budget Officer to be Transferred to Financial Services
As a cost-savings and efficiency measure, the University will transfer all Budget Officers from academic units to Financial Services beginning in the Spring 2018 semester. Please join me in recognizing Ms. Teresa Steele for her years of service to COE. She began as an executive assistant to the dean in 2004, and then became our budget officer in 2008. Teresa is working with Rose and Sharon on this transition. We will host a reception for Ms. Steele later this fall in honor of her 13 years of loyal service to COE. Teresa says, “I am reluctant to leave my COE “home”, but I can be counted on to do what is best for MSU.”
Professional Development for all New Faculty (over the past two years): A Focus on Cultural Consciousness
Per Dr. Chris Craig, Deputy Provost…
Dear Colleagues,
I am sending a follow-up to all of our “newer” faculty starting their careers at MSU over the past two years. We are asking that you please consider the remaining two dates to sign-up for our Cultural Consciousness professional development sessions. We are canceling the October 25th event, as it appears that the remaining two dates will be better for folks.
We continue to welcome you as a new faculty member to the university and trust that the new semester has been rewarding for you. The Office of the Provost has partnered with the Division for Diversity and Inclusion (DDI) to provide Cultural Consciousness training for all new faculty.
As stated, your attendance is strongly encouraged as this is a key component in our 2016-2021 Long Range Plan, our Action Plan for 2017-2018 (http://www.missouristate.edu/LongRangePlan/) as well as our university strategic initiative to foster inclusive excellence throughout our institution.
The training will be offered in a three-hour session, with your choice of two remaining training classes to choose from, with the hope that one of these times will be convenient for your attendance and participation.
Please choose one of the following times and RSVP by email to AshleyRaines@MissouriState.edu or call the DDI office at 836-3736.
Cultural Consciousness Training Dates:
November 1 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Location: PSU 312 (Continental Breakfast)
November 7 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Location: PSU 314 (Continental Breakfast)
There is also a short questionnaire to complete by clicking on the link below.
Here is the survey link. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/W9HR86S
Your support and attendance is sincerely appreciated.
