Fast Track – Workforce Incentive Grant
Individuals who are 25 years or older or individuals who have not been enrolled in any school within the last two years can participate. The grant will serve students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree and are planning to enroll part or full time. Click on link below for more information and list of qualifying programs:

Epic Surprise Event
OCT. 26, 2019 AT 5:30 P.M. – JOIN US FOR AN EPIC SURPRISE EVENT
Join us at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. Afterwards, head to the heart of campus to enjoy a fireworks show and food truck fair.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Join us for an epic surprise event! There will be a HUGE announcement and a celebrity guest. After the big reveal, the party moves to the heart of campus for a food truck fair, fireworks, entertainment and more.
Free food! All attendees will receive $8 dollars in Bear Bucks to cash in at an array of food truck vendors parked in the heart of campus. Value can only be redeemed during the event.
Free t-shirts to the first 500 people. Swag bags for all attendees. And an awesome fireworks finale! Prime viewing for the fireworks will be the food truck area near lot 28.

Diversity Scholars Stipends Now $250!!! Application Deadline is October 11
Good news! The FCTL and the Diversity and Inclusion office have partnered on these stipends and the funding amount has been increased to $250.
Faculty who are interested in learning about diversity and creating an inclusive classroom culture are encouraged to apply for this $250 Diversity Scholar stipend. A limited number of stipends will be available. Past participants in this program earned a Diversity Scholars certificate serving as a mentor on diversity and inclusion to other faculty members in their department.
Interested applicants should submit a one-page application to the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning by the end of the day, Oct. 11th, 2019. This should be a one-page letter outlining your primary goals for integrating multicultural and diverse perspectives in your teaching.
Successful applicants are expected to participate in the four Diversity Workshops facilitated by the Diversity Fellow, Dr. Blanca Judith Martínez. These sessions will be offered during the fall and spring semesters. Diversity Scholars will also be asked to write a reflective essay on how they are incorporating this new knowledge into their practice and sharing practical teaching tips with other faculty for creating an inclusive learning environment.

The Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development will host the Equity in Missouri Higher Education Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019. The Summit will feature the release of a report on the state of equity in Missouri higher education, presentations and breakout sessions related to equity in student access and progress.

Pre-conference event
A pre-conference hack-a-thon and networking dinner will be held Oct. 29. This pre-conference event will feature speaker Lasana Hotep, inaugural Dean of Student Equity and founding Executive Director of the Equity Institute at Skyline College in San Bruno, California. College of Education Bear
To promote campus spirit, unity, and pride on campus, The Student Government Association and Senior Class Gift Commission organized a project to bring twenty-five statues to our campus. The Dean’s Office worked with Planning, Design and Construction to produce our College of Education Spirit Bear that is now prominently displayed at the north entrance of Hill Hall.
