500 Bears in Buildings!
Wow! Dean Hough set a goal of having 500 “Bears” in Buildings before the end of the fall 2019 semester. We already have 470, and the number increases daily!
From Lori Fan, Executive Director of Alumni Relations:
“Missouri State alumni are proud and passionate Bears! The alumni association’s mission is to create and support opportunities for engagement between alumni and the university community. This project brings alumni together to network with each other and to engage them in activities that will benefit their students, their communities and the state. We are thrilled to partner with the college on such an exciting project, and look forward to engaging these Bears in education in the important work of telling the MSU story to future educators and citizen Bears.”
The COE “Bears” in Every Building initiative is going viral on Facebook. Pictured below is Jennifer Baxter who is a FACS teacher in Willard and, as you can see, a BIEB. The students with her are all dual credit students completing Career Pathways course for ELE 302.
COE Event Flyer Ready for You to Use
Attached is a sample COE event flyer that Marketing and Communications designed for our college. You are welcome to use it. Approved logos are on the Marketing & Communications website. All documents that are created need to have the correct logos and colors.
Contribute to the MSU Food Drive
According to Feeding America, 1 in 7 people in Missouri struggles with hunger. The MSU community can do something to help! From October 7th-25th, we will be holding a food drive to benefit MSU’s Bear Pantry and Crosslines Food Pantry. Working in our community to improve food security is one of the seventeen Sustainable Community Development Goals:
Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
Collection Competition
MSU colleges, residence halls and administrative departments are invited to compete in the food drive. Since some administrative departments can be smaller than others, departments are allowed to partner on the event. In addition to the prizes listed below, Chartwells will match up to $700 worth of food items.
