DMP is a family owned manufacturer of electronic burglary, fire and access products.
Clayton Tummons, vice president of software at DMP and Missouri State alumnus, came to MSU to talk to computer science majors about options after graduation.
Tummons, who graduated from the College of Business, talked to students about the work environment at DMP and what recruiters were looking for in employees.
“DMP is a big local company that hires computer science students aggressively,” said Dr. Siming Liu. “Students benefit from the interaction with DMP by knowing what knowledge and skills they should learn in college.”
Liu, assistant professor of computer science, liked that Tummons showed students live demos of their newest products.
Tummons also demonstrated one of the projects DMP was working on.
Liu was glad that students could hear from an MSU alumnus.
“Clayton’s experience shows a successful example to our current students that they can be successful in their career after graduation from MSU,” Liu said.
