The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice is excited to announce that Dr. Ethan Amidon has just had a manuscript formally accepted for publication at Criminology. Professor Amidon’s manuscript is titled, An examination of the county-level political considerations associated with declining reliance on the death penalty from 1990 to 2010. Using data collected and synthesized from multiple sources, Ethan found that recent shifts in capital punishment nationwide are attributable to forces related to partisan politics, religious sentiments, and economics, but not directly influenced by race-related variables.
This research will no doubt inform the death penalty debate for years to come.
Criminology is widely recognized as the most prestigious outlet for scholarly work in the criminal justice field. When officially published, the article will be the second for Ethan in Criminology.
Congratulations, Dr. Amidon!
