This morning Caryn Saxon was officially recognized as a 2021 recipient of the Excellence in Public Affairs Award at the Missouri State University Board of Governors meeting. Each year a small number of faculty and staff whose work significantly advances the MSU public affairs mission receive this special honor.
During the award ceremony, Caryn’s therapeutic efforts with women in the justice system who have faced trauma and relationship violence, along with her academic contributions to the field of restorative justice, were highlighted. For several years, Caryn has also been heavily involved and instrumental in shaping assessments of the public affairs pillars throughout the criminology curriculum.
We are grateful to have such a wonderful champion of public affairs as Caryn Saxon here in our Department!
