The Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion was pleased with the selection of the division’s first diversity fellows. Dr. Sabrina Brinson and Dr. Steve Willis were selected for this distinguished honor and opportunity for campus-wide diversity education and service. The selection is a collaboration between Offices of the Provost and the OVPDI, and includes leadership from the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. Drs. Brinson and Willis will serve as Diversity Fellows from Fall, 2013, through Summer, 2014.
Dr. Brinson is Professor of Childhood Education and Faculty Studies, and she will focus on the new mentoring program for faculty from underrepresented groups and serve on the Diversity Coordination Task Force. Dr. Willis is Professor of Art and Design and will provide faculty development to further integrates diversity proficiencies in education and other academic units at MSU. He also will serve on the PEC Diversity Committee. Both Dr. Brinson and Dr. Willis will work with Division for Diversity and Inclusion staff to monitor data relative to university progress on diversity initiatives and participate in discussions of feedback from the Climate Study.
