About:
Uganda is a magical place to visit. During our time together, you will learn and experience things you cannot yet imagine. Because this is a service learning trip, you will be working as you travel and study. Service will include: teaching English and acting to Ndere Troupe members, sharing your expertise with students at Kyambogo University, and helping to build a school house in a rural village. You will visit three cities while we travel. Kampala is the capital city and the most urban environment in the Uganda. Here you will meet your hosts, the Ndere Troupe, and visit various sites in the city. Gulu is a smaller city in northern Uganda where you will see a historic slave trading center and meet a village chief. On the way to and from Kyabanyoro, you will experience rural life in southwestern Uganda, camping out in a small village, visiting two state parks, canoeing on a local lake, and learning about Punishment Island. We won’t forget to take you on safari and let you shop for gifts to bring home.
