Tough Talks Round 2
Whatever your viewpoint is, this is your opportunity to talk about it
The Unwelcome Immigrant?
Immigrants to the United States are facing increasing pressure and scrutiny in their quest to move to the United States and pursue the American dream. This Tough Talk, by exploring weekly sub-topics, will provide an opportunity to hear some the stories of immigrants as well as explore the political hot button the immigration to the United States has become. How difficult is it to immigrate to the United States? Are people being deported and what is the impact on students and children who may not even have known they were not citizens? Please feel free to come to one session or all and join the conversation on this important topic. The last week of the Tough Talk will coincide with International Education Week!

Patriots and Protests
A continuing look at the relationship between protests and what it means to be an American, whether we look at the NFL, college campuses or the actions in St. Louis, protests are often seen as anti-American or are at least framed in this manner. We will also explore what it means to be a patriot and if this interpretation can change over time.
