Springfield NAACP Presents: Interactive – 42 – Screening
Join us on Saturday, August 17, 2019, 3:30 PM at the Connecting Grounds (1109 E Commercial)
Jackie Robinson is known for historical integration of major league baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. But, there is also speculation he was recruited because he was too timid to fight back when attacked. Quite the contrary! Interactive discussion and screening of 42 provides insight about Jackie Robinson as a civil rights activist on and off the baseball diamond. His integrity, discipline, and strength beyond measure advanced civil rights and forever enriched major league baseball.
Integrity – Discipline – Strength beyond Measure
