The virtual classroom: Strategies, ideas and best practices

August 28, 2020 by Diversity and Inclusion

As part of the Bear Bridge Mentoring Program, we would like to invite you to the presentation of Dr. Jonathan Newman who will be sharing his expertise on the topic of the virtual classroom.

In this workshop we will discuss how we meet challenges to student engagement in asynchronous online teaching. We will share strategies and practices for making the virtual classroom a community in which students and instructors can feel present to each other in their full identities and engage in authentic dialogue.

Jonathan Newman has been working on these challenges in English language and literature courses since he started teaching online in 2018.
