Choose a day over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend to join the Springfield NAACP’s virtual MLK March walk or drive on a path along the Springfield-Greene County African American Heritage Trail from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 15-18.
About the path
- Start at Silver Springs Park (1100 N. Hampton Ave.)
- Travel to Lincoln High School (815 N. Sherman)
- Stop at Church Square North (900 N. Benton Ave., the historic Washington Avenue Baptist Church)
- Visit Church Square South (600 N. Benton Ave.)
- End at Park Central Square

You can win prizes the entire weekend. Springfield NAACP board members will walk or drive the path between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 15-18 to hand out Springfield NAACP T-shirts and gift certificates to Big Momma’s Coffee & Espresso Bar and The Coffee Ethic.
