May 2, 2011 by

Ride With the Devil – The Springfield-Greene County Public Libraries held a screening of Ang Lee’s Ride With the Devil in the PSU on Monday night. If you missed it or feel like you need a little more Civil War action then come by the Electronic Arts Showcase on May 9th for South of Black Drink Crier, a short film produced as a senior thesis project for a group of EA students. (SouthOfBlackDrinkCrier.com)

No Strings Attached – Is it just me or has Natalie Portman been in everything over the past few months? If you missed your chance at catching her alongside Ashton Kutcher in No Strings Attached fret not; the movie comes out on DVD & Blu-Ray May 10th. So come by Bearhouse Entertainment and pick up a copy a week from Tuesday.

Through the Lens: Discovering Diverse Photographic Visions – Last week was your final chance to take a look at some of the artwork created by advanced photography students in the PSU gallery.

Texas Hold’em – Finally, last Thursday in the PSU food court SAC After Hours held a Texas Hold’em tournament. Fun and great prizes were up for grabs. For a full list of SAC’s future events check out their calendar.

If you want to see what’s going on in the PSU this week, then be sure to check out our weekly preview, and in the mean time get pumped for May Day this Wednesday!

What you missed is a recap of the past weeks events in and around the PSU.

WYM: Renaissance in the PSU

April 25, 2011 by

Last week turned out to be a fairly slow week at the Union with Spring Holiday sending many students home for the long weekend. Of course a slow week by Union standards still provides with plenty of great events.

Renaissance Fair – If you came by the PSU on Tuesday you may have noticed many lords and ladies dressed in their finest Renaissance era attire. The English society held a Renaissance Fair in the PSU with everything from Ye Olde Booke Shoppe to Mistress Katherine’s Homemade Sweets. Of course what Renaissance Fair is complete without turkey legs? They had those too.

Lunch Time Concert – Even with the short week SAC still managed to plan a great event for students in the PSU. On Tuesday SAC had a lunch time concert in the PSU Food Court from 12 – 1 PM.

Bears Baseball – Hopefully you took last weeks Previews advice and checked out the Bears baseball on Friday. If you did you got to see the Bears thrash Indiana State 14-2 behind 7 RBI’s from Brock Chaffin. Check out the recap here.

Spring Holiday – Ok, so you probably didn’t technically miss Spring Holiday since you had the days off. Hopefully you caught up on your rest because finals are only two weeks away!
