Union Update: Construction Zones!

June 5, 2012 by Julie Hill

caution-signs

As usual, summer on campus brings a list of construction projects.

This year, Missouri State Dining Services is adding Panda Express and Red Mango to the PSU Food Court.  Construction in the former Freshens and Wok n Roll areas has resulted in a long plywood wall along the west side of the Food Court.     A peek behind the wall shows the work being done to demo the old vendor locations as well as the former West Lounge.the-great-wallbehind-the-wall-6-5

level-1-below-the-construction Plumbing changes for the new construction is also affecting the Level 1 Game Center which is closed while construction on the floor above affects the ceiling below.

Elsewhere on campus, traffic is being rerouted and visitors are following a treasure map to parking as the city works on a project that will create a better entrance to campus on Monroe.  A traffic signal and additional turning lanes will make things much smoother at that corner when construction is completed. road-closed

The Foster Recreation Center is still under construction but it is definitely starting to look like a fitness facility.  The first deliveries of fitness equipment are due in next week, and Campus Recreation staff expects to be able to move into their new offices in early July. frc-sidewalk

When the fall semester begins we will have a lot to celebrate!

Chalking Wall in Level 1

Chalking Wall in Level 1

Come check out the brand new chalking wall in Level 1. Bowl a few frames, play some pool, grab a snack, or just lounge around and when you’re done make sure to make your mark on Level 1 by signing the chalking wall.

That’s not the only newness at Level 1. We also want to see where you’ve been and what you like, so bring in magnets of anything you want to decorate the steel counters.
