We have the following events coming up on and around campus that students should check out 🙂

April 11

SAC After Hours Presents: Harry Potter Trivia Night

Time and Location:

9:00 PM – 11:59 PM
Plaster Student Union, Robert W. Food Court

Players will be split up into the four houses from the Harry Potter series.

…may the best house win.

There is free butter beer and a costume contest! On Thursday April 11th join SAC from 9pm-midnight for a magical time!

April 13

Men’s Soccer vs. MidAmerica Nazarene

April 14

Missouri State University Concert Chorale

Date, Time and Location:

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
St. Joseph’s Church

Event Details:

The Music Department presents a concert by the MSU Concert Chorale at St. Joseph’s Church, 1115 N. Campbell in Springfield.

“The Missouri State Concert Chorale, directed by Dr. Guy B. Webb, has toured extensively throughout the United States, to Puerto Rico, and in eight concert tours to Europe that included London, Southampton, Brussels, Paris, Tours, Cologne, Hannover, Dresden, Leipzig, Berlin, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague, Budapest, Venice, Florence, Rome, and cathedral cities in Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Iceland, Denmark, and Sweden. The select choir of 52 voices has performed in New York’s Lincoln Center and for national and divisional conventions of the American Choral Directors Association and the Music Educators National Conference.”

Societal Issues and Community Services Fair

Event Details:

“The fourth biannual Societal Issues and Community Services Fair features research projects of students enrolled in two sections of the general education course Introduction to Society.  Students have researched common social problems in the area and interviewed representatives from local agencies who deal with these issues.  The fair brings together the Missouri State community and citizens of Springfield, thereby practicing public sociology and promoting the Public Affairs Mission of the university.”

April 16

The Textulator Challenge

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Plaster Student Union, Robert W.

Event Details:

“Ad Team partners with AT&T to bring the TEXTulator Challenge to MSU’s campus. This event will be centered around a Mario Kart texting and driving simulator, challenging participants to text while dodging flying shells and slippery bananas.

AT&T will also bring its latest gadgets for product demonstrations,including the most recent phones, tablets, and music accessories. Of course what’s an event without some amazing give-a-ways.

So, do you have what it takes to be a TEXTulator champion?”

Friday September 7:

Women’s Soccer Team will be competing against KU in Lawrence, Kansas @ 5 PM

Women’s Volleyball will be playing against Connecticut at Home in the Hammons Student Center @ 7:30 PM

Saturday September 8:

Women’s Volleyball will be playing against New Orleans at Home in the Hammons Student Center @ 12 PM

Women’s Field Hockey is going up against Georgetown at St. Louis, MO @ 1 PM

Men’s Football is taking on Louisville at Louisville, KY @ 2:30 PM

Women’s Volleyball will be playing against Northern Illinois at Home in the Hammons Student Center @ 7:30 PM

Sunday September 9:

Men’s Soccer will be facing Green Bay at Dayton, Ohio @ 10 AM

Women’s Soccer VS. SIUE Cougars at Home in Springfield, MO @ 1PM

Volleyball Bears Close Weekend With Wins Over UALR and Austin Peay

The Volleyball Bears had a pair of victories over Arkansas-Little Rock and Austin Peay in the University Plaza Invitational this past weekend. Congratulations to Carly Thomas and Andrea Beaty for making the all-tournament team!

Bray’s Late Second-Half Goal Ignites Bears’ 1-0 Shutout of ORU

Men’s Soccer continues the season undefeated for the first time since 2005. Junior Matt Bray scored the winning goal against ORU at the University of Central Arkansas Tournament.

Bears Look to Rebound Against No. 23 Louisville

The Bears are heading to Louisville this weekend for the second game of the season against the Louisville Cardinals! Play hard and be safe, Bears!

Bears Set to Take on No. 22 Kansas State in Season Opener! Can you believe it? The bears are heading up to Manhattan this weekend to take on the famous Kansas State Wildcats for the third time. It’s a very big game and what a way to start things off! Go Bears! Have strength guys, play hard and represent Missouri State University well!

Men’s Soccer Earns First Victory of 2012, Shuts Out UMKC 3-0

This was quite a victor for the Bears as all three goals were scored in the first half of the games. Way to go guys! Keep it up! It’s going to be a great season for the Bears!

Bears Volleyball to Open Busy Home Season with University Plaza Invitational

The Bears Volleyball team will be facing off against numerous opponents this Labor Day weekend at home so please make sure to attend and root them on to victory!
