Dr. Margaret E. Weaver, Professor in the English Department, has been awarded the 2017-18 Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) Teaching Award in Accessible Learning.
The FCTL council members were impressed with Dr. Weaver’s work and impact with her students. She’ll be recognized with a plaque at the annual All Faculty Recognition Reception in May. Dr. Weaver is a decorated educator, having previously received the 2011-12 University Foundation Award in Teaching, the 2010 Outstanding Honors Instructor, 2003-04 College Service Award, and numerous other awards.
One of Dr. Weaver’s graduate students has this to say about her professor:
“She’s awesome. She’s the best teacher ever. She’s very passionate and knowledgeable about what she talks about. And she cares about her students. I ask her all the time about graduate school. She’s the best.”
Dr. Weaver’s interests are in composition theory and pedagogy, rhetorical theory, history of rhetoric, and feminist theory and rhetoric. The English Department congratulates Dr. Weaver on her award.
