Each semester, The Alum Report publishes a monthly, student-written article featuring alumni of the English Department. The narratives we feature explore the diverse ways in which English degrees are being used and are intended to present possibilities to students that will inspire them as they choose their future careers.
Bringing alumni stories and advice to current students, parents, and friends of the English Department is a team effort. Collaborating on this project is Dr. Etta Madden, Assistant Department Head of English, John Turner, Senior Instructor in the Professional Writing Program and Lead Editor of the English Department’s website and blog, and Sabrina Wagganer, Assistant Editor of The Alum Report.
Wagganer is a first-generation college student who will graduate with a BS in Professional Writing in 2021. She has published on Atlas Obscura, is in the process of publishing her e-book, Work Smarter, and is the creator of The Jacqueline Project, a blog highlighting women who rock their corner of the small business world. She has worked in healthcare since 2004 and, having been a small business owner since 2007, is passionate about the success of small businesses. Wagganar also enjoys discovering locally owned eateries and unknown tourist attractions.
