“Copymarks: Shortcuts to Editing Your Writing” by Tracy Dalton

March 7, 2022 by Makenna L. Cornelison

Learning to use a few, universal copymarking symbols can help writers to quickly edit their own and others’ writings. During this presentation, students will use copymarks along with the presenter to edit two short sections of text. The copymarking demonstration will be videotaped as part of a PowerPoint presentation. While students edit along with the presenter, they will also review several grammar rules, in particular, about passive voice and punctuation.

ANTICIPATED MATERIALS OR TECHNICAL HELP REQUESTED: Here is a list of what students will need to participate during this presentation:

  • Computer projection for access to PowerPoint presentation slides with embedded video
  • Pencils with erasers (no pens)
  • Two printed worksheets (zip file attached below)
