Greetings! Our fall 2024 census headcount summary and reports were distributed earlier in the week. A few  highlights. We have some very good news to report as well as some challenges for which efforts are already in place to address.

• Our Springfield campus total enrollment is 25,038 and system (including West Plains) enrollment is 26,874. We are up in total Springfield campus enrollment by 814 (3.4%)
• This is our LARGEST SPRINGFIELD CAMPUS AND SYSTEM ENROLLMENT IN UNIVERSITY HISTORY.
• Much of our enrollment is due to a significant increase high school dual credit students.
• Last year we experienced our largest year to year increase in first time new in college (FTNIC) students in MSU history. This year we had a decline in FTNICs, but it is still our SECOND LARGEST CLASS SINCE 2018, which is when our overall demographic of degree seeking undergraduates began to decrease.
• We are also up 3,363 (1.4%) in credit hours, which is has a positive impact on net revenue.
• In addition to those areas, we are up in continuing degree seeking undergraduate and underrepresented by race/ethnicity students.
• With these noted achievements, we are also down in FTNIC, degree seeking undergraduate, all graduate, and international students, as well as our first to second year retention rate. These are items we continue to address collectively.
