Please be advised that City Utilities of Springfield is continuing work to replace the water main that runs along Holland Avenue.  The new water main is in place and City Utilities crews will be connecting customer services to the new main beginning this week.  They plan to perform the following work during the week of September 25 – 29:

Tuesday, September 26

• Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Holland Avenue in the area between the northern entrance to the Strong Hall U-drive up to just north of the southern entrance of Lot 20.  This work will require a full closure of Holland Avenue in the area of the work as well as closure of the southern entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 20.  Both entrances to the Strong Hall U-drive should remain open and the northern entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 20 will remain open.

Wednesday, September 27

• Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Holland Avenue in the area from north of the southern entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 20 up to the northern entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 20.  The northbound lane of Holland Avenue (east side of the street) will be closed during this work, restricting traffic to one lane in this area.  The southern entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 20 will remain open.  The northern entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 20 will be restricted to one lane and may be fully closed during part of the day.

Thursday, September 28

• Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Holland Avenue in the area just north of Madison Street.  The northbound lane of Holland Avenue (east side of the street) will be closed during this work, restricting traffic to one lane in this area.  Access to Lot 25 will not be impacted by this work.

Friday, September 29

• Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Holland Avenue in the area just south of the entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 25.  The northbound lane of Holland Avenue (east side of the street) will be closed during this work, restricting traffic to one lane in this area.  The entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 25 will be restricted and may be fully blocked during part of the day.

Note that the above schedule is approximate.  Weather or unforeseen conditions may require the work schedule to revised.

Updated information regarding the Holland Avenue water main renewal project will be posted weekly as the project progresses.  Additional information will be posted with regard to any impacts on Bear Line shuttle service.
