City Utilities of Springfield is continuing work to replace the water main that runs along Holland Avenue. The new water main is in place and City Utilities crews will be connecting customer services to the new main. They plan to perform the following work during the week of October 2 – 6:
Monday, October 2
•Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Holland Avenue in the area north of Madison Street up to south of the entrance from Holland Avenue into Lot 25. This work will require a full closure of Holland Avenue in the area of the work. Access to Lot 25 from Holland may be restricted by this work.
Tuesday, October 3
•Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Holland Avenue in the area between the driveways from Holland Avenue into Parking Lot 20. This work will require a full closure of Holland Avenue in the area of the work. Both entrances to the Parking Lot 20 should remain open during this work but may be restricted at times.
Wednesday, October 4
•Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Holland Avenue in the area just north of Bear Boulevard. Holland Avenue will remain open during this work but traffic may be restricted due to equipment and work crews in the area.
Thursday, October 5
•Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Holland Avenue between Bear Boulevard and Harrison Street. This work will require a full closure of Holland Avenue in the area of the work.
Friday, September 29
•Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in various areas along Holland Avenue between Grand Street and Cherry Street but the street is expected to remain open. Traffic on Holland Avenue may be restricted at various times due to equipment and crews and in the area.
Note that the above schedule is approximate. Weather or unforeseen conditions may require the work schedule to revised.
Updated information regarding the Holland Avenue water main renewal project will be posted weekly as the project progresses. Additional information will be posted with regard to any impacts on Bear Line shuttle service.
