City Utilities of Springfield is replacing the water main that runs along National Avenue and will be making connections to the fire service piping located just north of the north driveway into Parking Lot 1 from National Avenue.  The work is expected to have the following impacts on streets, sidewalks, and parking in the area:

Monday, November 6

• Sidewalks running parallel to the north side of Lot 1 and also sidewalks running parallel to the west side of National Avenue north or Lot 1 will be closed to allow crews to dig and work on the fire service piping. The metered parking spaces on the north side of Lot 1 nearest National Avenue will not be available for parking while the work occurs.

Tuesday, November 7

• From 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. southbound National Avenue will be restricted to one lane to the north of Lot 1 to allow crews to connect the fire service piping to the water main located in National Avenue. Sidewalks running parallel to the north side of Lot 1 and also sidewalks running parallel to the west side of National Avenue near the Lot 1 north driveway will be closed and the metered parking spaces on the north side of Lot 1 nearest National Avenue will not be available for parking while the work occurs. Access to Parking Lot 1 from National Avenue is anticipated to remain open but will be restricted by the work.

Note that the above schedule is approximate.  Weather or unforeseen conditions may require the work schedule to revised.
