The Springfield Campus experienced an unexpected power outage on Tuesday, November 26th, impacting Central Stores, Blunt Hall, Kemper Hall, and Plaster Stadium.

To address this issue, Facilities Management will need to temporarily disconnect one of Missouri State University’s main electrical power feeds. In addition to those currently without power, the following buildings will also be impacted including:

• Blair-Shannon
• Carrington Hall
• Craig Hall
• Karls Hall
• Art Annex
• Ellis Hall
• Hill Hall
• Wells House
• Kings Street Annex
• Lot 24/Grand Street Underpass

We are continuing to prepare for the electrical outage. We anticipate that the electrical outage will start on Tuesday, November 26th, at around 10:00  a.m. and is expected to last no more than one hour. This situation may have affected any electrical equipment equipped with a Low Voltage Protection Feature, such as computers and other electronics. To prepare your computer, it is recommended you unplug all computer equipment prior to any scheduled electrical outage to protect against damage or potential loss of data. Once power is restored, elevators, HVAC and other equipment will be brought back online.
