Spring has officially arrived, and with it, warmer temperatures are becoming the norm. Facilities Management is preparing for the seasonal transition to cooling and expects to make the switch to chilled water this week. This changeover is dependent on the weather, but with overnight temperatures projected to remain consistently above 40°F, we’re confident that it’s the right time to begin the process.
As part of this transition, the campus heating system was shut off last week. This step was necessary to allow the overall system temperatures to cool down in preparation for chilled water circulation. Allowing time between shutting down the heating system and starting up the cooling system helps protect the equipment and ensures an efficient switchover.
The following buildings are included in this cooling transition: Carrington Hall, Craig Hall, Plaster West, University Bookstore, University Hall, and Cheek Hall.
We appreciate your patience during this period of adjustment, and we’re committed to keeping campus spaces comfortable as the seasons change. If you experience any unusual temperature issues in your building after the switch, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Work Management at 6-8400 or via email at workmanagement@missouristate.edu.
Thank you!
