Each year it is necessary to shut down the campus steam system to perform required inspections and essential maintenance on the campus steam system. This outage helps ensure our steam system remains reliable and safe.
The annual steam outage will start at midnight on Friday, May 9th, and run continuously until 5 PM on Wednesday, May 14th. During the outage, some buildings on campus may be colder than usual, and domestic hot water may not be available.
Facilities impacted (in alphabetical order) are as follows:
- Baker Bookstore – HVAC
- Blair Shannon House – HVAC, Domestic Hot Water, and Food Service
- Blunt Hall (to include the Vivarium) – HVAC, Humidity, Autoclave, and Domestic Hot Water
- Carrington Hall – HVAC
- Cheek Hall – HVAC
- Craig Hall – HVAC
- Ellis Hall – HVAC (Humidity Control)
- Forsythe Athletic – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
- Foster Family Recreation Center – HVAC, Domestic Hot Water, Pool Heat, and Spa.
- Freudenberger House – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
- Greenwood Lab School – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
- Hill Hall – HVAC
- Karl’s Hall – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
- Kemper Hall – HVAC
- Majors Health and Wellness Center – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
- McDonald Arena – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
- Meyer Library – HVAC and Humidity
- Plaster East Bleachers – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
- Plaster Stadium – HVAC and Domestic Hot Water
- Plaster Student Union – HVAC (Domestic Hot Water will be on the Electric Back-Up)
