On Sunday evening, June 8, 2025, there was a fire at Craig Hall. The Springfield Fire Department, University Safety, Facilities Management, and Planning, Design, and Construction all responded which helped limit the extent of the damage. The fire was able to be contained and was extinguished by the sprinkler system in the building. The University is already working with our insurance company, FM Global, on the claim. This fire was not related to the construction at Craig Hall.
