Bring your laptop and spend a few days this summer with the FCTL instructional designers to learn about Brightspace and get your courses ready for the Fall 2024 semester. Each day will begin with a 1-hour demonstration focused on specific features and conclude with a 2-hour lab where you can focus on building your courses in Brightspace with the instructional designers available to answer questions.

Session Outcomes:
Day 1: Getting Started
- Be able to access the Brightspace platform and locate your courses.
- Know how to set up your Brightspace Gradebook in your courses.
- Be able to create modules and upload course content.
Day 2: Assessment and Feedback
- Be able to create an assignment in Brightspace.
- Be able to create a rubric and link it to an assignment.
- Be able to create a quiz/test in Brightspace.
Day 3 Communication
Examine tools and strategies to enhance communication and engagement.
- Know how to create announcements in Brightspace.
- Know how to create discussion topics in Brightspace.
- Know how to send email through Brightspace.
Day 4: Advanced Communication tools and Course Management
- Be aware of the Intelligent Agents and how they can be used to improve engagement.
- Know how to customize the look of your course.
- Know how copy your course to another course in Brightspace.
