Hey there, Bears and families!
Have you completed your 2025-2026 FAFSA yet? If not, there’s still time to cross it off your to-do list! While many FAFSA Frenzy events across the state are starting to wind down, you can check the remaining scheduled events online. If you’re having specific issues filing your FAFSA, contact our team at (417) 836-5262 or FinancialAid@MissouriState.edu and we’ll find a way to help!
Why file the FAFSA?
Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for aid, filing the FAFSA is crucial. Many scholarships, work-study programs, and loans require a completed FAFSA. You’re not just applying for federal aid. You’re unlocking many ways to make college more affordable.
Filing now gives you a head start on accessing federal, state, and institutional aid. The FAFSA Priority Consideration Deadline is February 1, 2025. This deadline applies to state of Missouri financial aid and some Missouri State scholarships. Filing by this date will maximize your financial aid opportunities, including grants and scholarships.
If you miss the deadline, you should still submit the FAFSA as aid may still be available. Many other aid types (such as Federal Pell Grants) are not part of the February 1 deadline.
