Update for clarity: Current students who are transitioned from the Inclusive Excellence Scholarship (IES) to the Engaged Citizen Award (ECA) will not receive additional years of scholarship eligibility. Instead, their remaining eligibility under the IES will transfer directly to the ECA. For example, a student who has received the IES for two years and remains eligible will receive the ECA for up to two more years, provided all renewal criteria continue to be met.
Important changes have been made to Missouri State University scholarship programs. The Inclusive Excellence Scholarship (IES) is no longer an active scholarship starting with the fall 2025 semester. Moving forward, new students can apply for the Engaged Citizen Award.
The Engaged Citizen Award reflects our continued commitment to honor students who show leadership, help others and contribute positively to our community. Missouri State is dedicated to serving a vibrant and diverse community. We believe every student can make a difference. The Engaged Citizen Award recognizes students’ efforts and dedication to building a better community.
All current recipients of the IES award are automatically enrolled as Engaged Citizen Award recipients and will see the scholarship listed on their 2025-2026 award offer. These Engaged Citizens will continue to receive this award if they continue to meet all published scholarship renewal requirements.
New students who applied for the Inclusive Excellence Scholarship will be considered for the Engaged Citizen Award.
Thank you for being a valued part of the Missouri State family.
