I was very unaware of what to expect entering my first year of college. This unknowingness caused bad experiences that led to poor academic performance and an eventual departure from my first institution of choice. However, I was able to rebound by transferring to another university that offered academic and career development support. This type of assistance helped me create positive momentum for long-term student and life success.

The aforementioned services provided me many opportunities to prepare for what was to come upon graduation. More specifically, I learned that being informed on and familiar with all academic support services is key. Additionally, I got involved! Getting active in academic, social and cultural organizations allowed me to generate networks and gain needed support. In all, I learned to benefit from services that the university offered and I graduated!

My advice to you is to take advantage of as many student services as possible. Doing this will help you succeed! Good Luck!
