My mother and her mother before her never had the chance to attend college. I got that chance and though it took a while for me to learn how to learn from my professors-eventually earned a master’s degree and now my daughter has a Ph.D.! Education has changed our family’s lives and I’m immensely grateful to the wise, helpful, and kindly supportive mentors who challenged and championed me along the way.
