I don’t think I will ever forget February 12, 2010.    The announcement was made about the second largest gift ever to the Missouri State Foundation.     A 3,300 ranch was donated by the Journagan family in which the value is estimated over seven-million dollars.    We celebrated the gift during a press conference.   While the gift helps us the reach our campaign goal of 125-million dollars, the reason why I will remember that day, is the faces of the students and high school students that attended the event.    I saw the smiles of the students when the ranch was described and the different types of programs that the students will be involved with.    What a living lab in which to study!    Most schools around the country won’t have the resources Missouri State will now have.    Generations to come will see the benefit of this important gift.   Thank you to the Journagan’s for making Missouri State University a special place for learning.
