Facility to be named the O’Reilly Clinical Health Science Center
With an increasing need to care for an aging population, future health care professionals at Missouri State University will find state-of-the-art facilities at their disposal, thanks to a significant gift from the O’Reilly family. In recognition of the gift, the new facility will be named the O’Reilly Clinical Health Science Center.
The O’Reilly family (Charlie and Mary Beth O’Reilly, Larry O’Reilly, David O’Reilly, Rosalie Wooten and the Charles H. (Chub) O’Reilly Trust) are long-time supporters of Missouri State University and have provided significant philanthropic support to many areas in southwest Missouri.
“The O’Reilly family is pleased to make this gift to Missouri State,” said Charlie O’Reilly. “Our family has a keen interest in Missouri State University and in health education. This gift will not only help students succeed, but will also help advance healthcare in the state of Missouri.”
The O’Reilly Clinical Health Science Center is under construction at the corner of Cherry Street and Holland Avenue. This facility will include a welcoming lobby, multi-disciplinary health clinic, skills laboratories, offices, classrooms and group study spaces for the occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, nursing and nurse anesthesia programs. The facility will also include mannequin simulation labs for the nursing and nurse anesthesia programs. The building design is intended to provide a strong first impression for prospective College of Health and Human Services students and faculty and to encourage multi-disciplinary interaction.
“This important gift from the O’Reilly family will go a long way to position Missouri State as a leader in health care, not only in southwest Missouri, but across the state,” said Missouri State President Clifton M. Smart III. “The O’Reilly Clinical Health Science Center will give our students a facility that will better prepare them for success in the critical health care field.”
