Silver medals for Mtn. Grove Cellars Pink Catawba and Maroon Blend

Our Mountain Grove Cellars 2008 Pink Catawba and Maroon Blend wines won silver medals in the 2009 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition! Congratulations to Karl and CJ, and to our field staff. Last week’s freeze

Well, it looks like we made it through the freeze last week without any major fruit flower damage.  This means we are still on for a good crop of peaches and apples this year, at least for our area.  Checking the the various fruit crop flowers I saw some damage to the pears but still a good crop, we will not have to thin.  Apples looked good also.  My surprize was the peaches.  … [Read more...] about Last week’s freeze
