Grape canopy management

Breanne is shoot thinning the Seyval Blanc grapes. Scott is in the background since he is not quite as fast at this job.

To date, last week we have shoot thinned the West Catawba vineyard and removed fruit from low pruning weight or small vines. This week we have shoot and cluster thinned the MVEC Chambourcin rows and have shoot thinned the Seyval blanc. We will wait until fruit set to cluster thin the Seyval. Veggies in the high tunnel

Sylvia and Shawna plant a row of eggplants in the high tunnel

Today we were planting vegetables in the annual side of the high tunnel. We are just completing construction on the tunnel, and ideally we would have planted the vegetables earlier to get a boost on the season. This year we are going to figure out the tomato trellising system, set up the irrigation and plan on crop rotation. Ridging up the strawberry beds
