Bottling Catawba September 5, 2013 by Marilyn OdnealOut in the field we are picking grapes but in the winery they are bottling more 2012 Catawba. The bottling crew seems to enjoy the work. From left to right are C.J., Karl, Amanda and Chelsea. The bottles are sparged with nitrogen and then filled. Karl eyes the wine level and then puts the bottles in the corking machine. Amanda applies the labels and cap and Chelsea boxes up the bottles into a case. Amanda often gives advice to co-workers. The crew works very efficiently during this operation.
