Missouri Young Farmers tour the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station

Surya Sapkota and Dr. Wine await the arrival of the group. Dr. Hwang welcomed the group.

The State Young Farmers toured the Fruit Experiment Station today as part of their 46th Annual Missouri Young Farmers Summer Tour. This year's tour is hosted by the State Executive Committee in conjunction with Missouri State University and highlighting the MSU College of Agriculture. There were about 150 participants. Grape juice analysis

Eva (front) and Jennifer work on the acid base titration to determine the g/100ml Tartaric acid equivalent in the juice.

Here are the juice analysis results from the grape berries collected this morning. Shade cloth was put on the high tunnel July 18

White drupelets were noticed on raspberries on the side most exposed to light.

Shadecloth was put on the high tunnel on Tuesday, July 18 after white drupelet symptoms appeared on the raspberries that is associated with solar radiation (UV light) - see http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/r71800111.html  UC IPM Caneberries White Drupelet.
