Apple Trees Blooming

The apple trees are finally waking up for the season.  With the cool spring that we have experienced the tree fruit seem to be developing about 2 weeks later than last year.  This has been a benefit in that it has avoided some insect pests that are present and like the fresh green foliage, as they arrived and did not find tissue to chew on.  The apple trees will need to be … [Read more...] about Apple Trees Blooming

Shade Cloth Put on Greenhouse

The field crew placed shade cloth on all 4 greenhouses today.  They start by rolling out the shade cloth, tie ropes to the corners and middle and throw it over the top.  Once ropes are over the cloth is slowly pulled over and positioned.  Then it is tied and secured to the greenhouse.  Shade cloth helps reduce the temperature inside the … [Read more...] about Shade Cloth Put on Greenhouse
