Harvesting Mars grapes for the workshop tomorrow

Karl Wilker (left) decided to harvest Mars grapes to use in the demonstrations tomorrow.

Indeterminate tomatoes planted in high tunnel today

The rows are marked for planting.

Indeterminate tomato cultivars were planted in the high tunnel today for the Greenhouse and High Tunnel Workshop demonstrations. Cultivars included were Sun Gold on own roots, Sun Gold on Maxifort rootstock, Super Sweet 100, Sweet Treats Hybrid, Early Girl Hybrid and Goliath Cluster Hybrid. Grape berry sampling begins

After the berries were collected in the field, they are crushed in the stomacher to extract the juice.

Karly and Makayla sampled berries from the grapes that were undergoing veraison. They then processed the juice from the berries and analyzed them for TSS, pH and TA.   … [Read more...] about Grape berry sampling begins
