What's happening in the field?

At the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station

We’ve got mushrooms!

August 17, 2018 by Marilyn Odneal

I checked the oyster mushroom bags this morning and found mushrooms coming out of the bags! I was worried earlier in the week and sent some photos to Lindsey of Field and Forest Products on Tuesday and she said that I would see them soon from the looks of it. She was right!!

Here are the mushrooms growing out of the holes we made in the bags.

The mushrooms on the lower shelf haven't started fruiting yet, and we may move them to the greenhouse. The top two shelves in the Shroom Room are beginning to fruit.
