Tulip poplar struck by lightening

April 18, 2019 by Marilyn Odneal

The tulip poplar on the Mountain Grove Campus, probably the oldest specimen in the Ozarks Arboretum, was stuck by lightening last night. We hope that it will survive, but the damage is severe. Leslie Akers checked the weather station and estimated the time of the strike to be at 12:45 am.
