Gourds Planted

The gourds were planted in the field today. Panels were installed for the smaller gourds to grow over and the larger gourds were planted in the ground. Blue Hubbard Squash was planted at the end of each row as a trap crop.  The varieties planted are:  Tennessee Dancing, Bird House, Big Apple, Mayo Bule, Zucca and Bushel Basket. Shroom room set up for production today

The boxes of baby bella/portabella or cremini mushrooms are kept in the dark and are misted daily.

Bob Semyck of Willow Mountain Mushrooms http://www.willowmountainmushrooms.com/ guided us through the set up of our Shroom Room where we plan to produce Baby Bella cremini (portabella) and Oyster mushrooms.
