Jacob Schneider, an MSU Plant Science Graduate, brought the group of Southwest China Plant Science Students to Mountain Grove for a tour of the State Fruit Experiment Station. We began with introductions in Faurot Hall led by Dr. Chin-Feng Hwang and then I presented a short overview of the Mountain grove Campus. Since it looked like rain, the entire group toured the field in busses led by Jennifer Morganthaler and Jeremy Emery.
Then they returned and divided into two groups to take turns touring the Mushroom Room, the Sales Room and the Grape Breeding Lab with Dr. Hwang where they saw a demonstration from Karly Negus on her research in grapevine bud cold hardiness.
The opposite group toured the winery and distillery led by C. J. Odneal.
Randy Stout, Shelia Long, Pam Turner, Leslie Akers, Dr. Wilker and Dr. Pszczolkowski also helped with the event.
